There are several ways that your mood can be affected by the hormone changes and other things around menopause, and nothing will make your mood swings worse than someone who tells you it's “all in your head.” You know it’s not in your head, although it can feel a little crazy sometimes.
Here are some simple things you can do to help swing your mood in the right direction.
1. Eat healthy. Food is a powerful drug in your arsenal of menopausal health.
2. Exercise. Sometimes this can be easier said than done. When you aren't sleeping well and wake up tired, exercise is the last thing you want to do. However, it can literally be the best thing for you. Pick something fun to do to clear your head and rejuvenate yourself.
3. Self Care. It's ok and necessary to take time for YOU! Set aside 20 minutes a few times a week and mask. One of my favorite pampering masks is the Korean inspired Bio-Cellulose Mask. It is pure goodness for your face.
4. Stay connected. Grab coffee and connect with some friends that are going through menopause. Knowing that you are not alone in what you are feeling is some of the best medicine.
